Pacing is editing, not talking faster
People try to fix a slow video by speeding up delivery. Wrong lever. Speed makes you harder to follow while leaving every dead moment intact.
What actually changes the pace:
— Cut every gap between sentences. Breath, pause, filler sound, all of it. This alone transforms most recordings.
— Cut the run-up to sentences. "So the thing is" and "what I want to say is" carry nothing.
— Change something on screen where a new idea starts. A cut, a frame change, anything. Visual monotony reads as slowness even when the words are moving.
— Front-load each sentence with the noun and verb that matter. Trailing clauses are where attention leaks.
— Re-cut the last thirty seconds. Endings drift because you already feel finished.
Then watch it at normal speed without touching anything. Wherever you get bored is the cut you did not make.
Tighten the silence before you tighten the speech.
