You don't need a log platform to do log analysis

Myth: real crawl analysis means Splunk, an ELK stack, or a $400/month SEO log tool.

Reality: most sites under a million URLs get 90% of the insight from grep and a spreadsheet. Filter the log to Googlebot, count hits per directory, sort descending. The traps jump out in five minutes.

Here's the thing. The heavy platforms earn their cost when you're correlating crawl against rendering, deploys, and revenue across billions of rows in real time. That's a handful of sites.

The rest reach for a tool to avoid reading their own logs, then never read the dashboard either.

The bottleneck was never the tooling. It was opening the file.
