Where I actually drop in-content units
Stop placing units by paragraph count. Place by reading rhythm:
— Unit 1: after the intro, before the first H2 (people are committed here)
— Unit 2: middle of longest content block, not at an H2 (breaks flow less)
— Unit 3: right before conclusion, where eyes slow down
— Never two units within one screen height — viewability dies
— On mobile, min 2 paragraphs of space between any two units
This spacing alone took my in-content CTR from 1.1% to 1.6%.
