Checklist: sanity-checking a third-party Threads analytics tool before you trust it
Tested three apps against native Insights on a real account for 14 days. Two were off by double digits.
— Pick one published post. Compare the tool's view count to Threads' own Insights, same 24h window. Over 10% gap means it's estimating, not pulling.
— Check follower count refresh time. If it only updates daily, your "hourly growth" chart is interpolated fiction.
— Confirm it reads reposts vs quotes separately. Tools that lump them hide your real amplification.
— Look for a "data delayed" disclaimer. Honest tools show it; hype tools hide it.
— Export a CSV and check timestamps are in your timezone, not UTC silently.
Most tools sit at 15-30 USD/mo. The standout when accurate is per-post follow-conversion. Annoying limit: the Threads API still won't expose impressions cleanly, so every tool guesses reach.
Verdict: Wait until you've run this 5-step audit.
