Playbook: trimming Elementor's front-end bloat without leaving the builder
You can claw back a lot before considering a migration.
— In Settings > Features, disable unused experiments and turn ON "Optimized DOM Output" and "Improved CSS Loading".
— Switch Google Fonts loading to Swap, or self-host and disable Elementor's font loader.
— Disable the default color/typography schemes if your theme already defines them.
— Dequeue elementor-icons / FontAwesome on pages that don't use them.
— Set SVG icons over icon fonts to drop a stylesheet.
Pros:
— Realistic 100-300KB savings per page, no rebuild.
— Reversible in one click.
Cons:
— "Improved CSS Loading" can cause FOUC on cached pages.
— Won't fix deep DOM nesting.
Best for: established Elementor sites where a rebuild isn't on the table.
