Playbook: migrating an Elementor site to Bricks without breaking layouts
There's no native importer, so you rebuild by template, not by page.
— Audit first: export your Elementor templates list, count global widgets and theme-builder parts (header/footer/single).
— Rebuild globals in Bricks first, then map each Elementor section to a Bricks structure block.
— Re-point dynamic tags (ACF, post meta) manually — they don't carry over.
— Keep Elementor active until every URL is rebuilt, then switch theme and run a 404/redirect sweep.
Pros:
— Page weight drops hard (Bricks ships ~40% less front-end CSS/JS).
— Cleaner DOM, fewer wrapper divs.
Cons:
— Fully manual; budget 20-40 min per complex template.
— Plugin-specific shortcodes may need re-testing.
Best for: sites under ~30 templates where performance gains justify the rebuild hours.
