Over-tightening anti-fraud rules until you reject real funded traders

Over-tightening anti-fraud rules until you reject real funded traders

The opposite mistake to letting fraud through: anti-fraud filters cranked so hard they block legitimate high-value leads. Forex traders are exactly the profile that trips naive rules.

Why real traders look 'fraudulent':
— Active traders use VPNs for latency and privacy, run multiple devices, and refresh quotes obsessively — all signals a blunt rule reads as bot/proxy abuse.
— Geo-mismatch (expat trading on a home-country broker) gets auto-blocked by a strict GEO rule.

The fix:
— Tune anti-fraud on outcome data, not assumptions. Back-test your rules against known-good funded traders: how many would each rule have blocked?
— Score, don't hard-block. Send borderline leads to manual review or a soft-friction step (extra verification) instead of an outright reject.
— Separate 'block' rules (clear fraud: known fraud IPs, impossible velocity) from 'flag' rules (VPN, geo-mismatch) that only add friction.

Who should skip this: ultra-high-fraud GEOs where the broker mandates aggressive blocking anyway — there the false-positive cost is accepted.

Verdict: Flag the borderline, block the obvious.
