Buying a link that's already there
A small but costly oversight came up this week.
— A BHW thread: a buyer paid for an edit, then found a competitor's link already sitting in the same paragraph pointing at a rival.
— A reply notes some host pages stack multiple bought inserts to the same anchor topic, diluting everyone.
— Fix circulating: read the full host page before buying and check it's not already saturated with similar commercial links.
Editor's note: you can usually see the page before you pay — so see it. A paragraph already carrying two paid links won't give yours room to matter. Read first, buy second.
