Hot take: link quantity and link strength are inversely related on a single page. PageRank divides among outbound links — 300 links each carry a 300th of the page's equity, and Google demonstrably weights the value any one link passes by how many compete with it. Your mega-menu, your tag cloud, your "explore" grid: all diluting each other into irrelevance.
The fix: ruthless link triage per page. Fewer, more deliberate links pass more equity and clearer relevance per link. Connection isn't the goal. Concentration is.
