The mistake: blaming low RPM on lazy-load you misconfigured
The claim: "Below-the-fold units barely earn — the network's ad demand is weak."
The asterisk: aggressive lazy-loading that fires too late means slots render after the reader scrolled past. Unviewed = unbid. You starved your own inventory and read it as weak demand.
🚩 Hidden variable: lazy-load trigger distance. Load 0px from viewport and ads never paint in time; load too eagerly and viewability craters. There's a tuned middle.
The fix: check your viewability per slot position before blaming demand. If below-fold viewability is under 50%, the problem is your trigger, not the advertisers.
Not saying demand is always strong — saying blaming the auction for your config is rigged.
