Classic mistake. You're so careful with the links pointing at your money site, then you blast 5,000 spam links at those tier-one pages overnight to "power them up."

Guess what flows downhill? A tier-one link sitting on a page that suddenly got nuked with garbage looks compromised, and that contamination signal travels.

Fix: pace tier-two too, or at minimum keep the worst velocity two hops away with a buffer page.
