Running browser-pixel conversion tracking with no server-side fallback
Forex funnels lose conversions to the same gaps as everyone else — ad blockers, ITP cookie limits, cross-device gaps — but the stakes are higher because FTDs are large. The mistake: relying on a single client-side pixel with no S2S backup.
What leaks:
— Safari/ITP caps cookie life, so a lead who registers today and deposits next week is untracked.
— Mobile-app-to-desktop journeys (common in forex: app signup, desktop funding) break the pixel entirely.
— Ad blockers eat 15-25% of pixel fires on tech-savvy trading audiences specifically.
The fix:
— Run S2S postbacks as primary and the pixel as supplementary, not the reverse. The broker's server tells the truth; the browser is best-effort.
— Pass a durable click ID through to the broker at registration and have them echo it back on deposit, so attribution survives cookie loss.
— Reconcile pixel vs. postback counts monthly; a widening gap means your pixel is degrading.
Who should skip this: networks that mandate their own S2S and forbid pixels — you're already on the safer rail.
Verdict: Server-side primary, pixel backup.
