Will I recover before the next core update?
Q: A core update tanked me. Do I have to wait for the NEXT update to recover, or can it happen sooner?
A: Short answer: usually you wait for another broad core update, but not always. Longer answer: core updates re-score your whole site against a new bar. If you make fixes today, Google often won't fully "re-credit" you until it re-runs that broad assessment, which can be months out. That's why recovery feels frustratingly delayed.
But two things move sooner:
— targeted helpful-content style improvements can lift individual pages between updates
— pruning or reworking your weakest 20% sometimes shifts things in weeks
Don't sit frozen waiting. Fix the actual quality gap now so you're ready when the next update lands.
Anyone want me to go deeper on this? React 👍
