Ran a crawl on a client site — 60 'orphan' pages with zero internal links pointing at them. They'd been written, published, and then forgotten. Google barely crawled them. Pure wasted spend.

Every audit now includes an orphan sweep:
— Crawl the site, filter for pages with 0 inlinks
— Either link them in from a relevant cluster, or noindex/redirect the dead weight
— Re-check that important pages are within 3 clicks of the home

A page with no internal links barely exists. Find your orphans first.
