— Cons: relearning the layout model, old templates use the legacy system, some add-ons lag

Legacy Sections/Columns:
— Pros: familiar, every tutorial uses them, maximum add-on compatibility
— Cons: nested div bloat, rigid column math, heavier pages, slower on mobile
