RAID protects against a disk dying. It does nothing against deletion, corruption, ransomware, a bad controller writing garbage to all disks, or the array catching fire.
RAID is uptime insurance, not data insurance.

— Backup: survives the whole array, separate in time and space
A second RAID rebuild eating your data is a rite of passage. Don't earn it. Fight me.
