Your internal links point at URLs that 301 somewhere else. You're leaking equity at every hop.
Unpopular opinion: internal links to redirected URLs are a self-inflicted wound nobody talks about. Every redirect adds latency, burns crawl budget, and historically bleeds a slice of PageRank per hop. You changed a slug two years ago, never updated the links, and now thousands of internal links route through a 301 they never needed to touch.
The fix: crawl for internal links resolving to non-200 status codes and rewrite them to the final destination. Direct links only. No middlemen.
When did you last run a crawl filtered to internal links hitting 3xx? If the answer is "never," that's your weekend.
