LEAK: crypto users convert slow, and your attribution window is too short to catch them
Word from a network manager: crypto leads have a brutally long consideration cycle. People research an exchange for two, three weeks before they deposit. Yet plenty of affiliates run offers with a 7-day or even last-click 24-hour cookie and wonder why traffic 'doesn't convert.'
The so-what: your users ARE converting — outside the window, so the exchange or a competing affiliate gets the FTD. You paid for the click; someone else banked the deposit.
— The fix: negotiate a 30-day attribution minimum on crypto offers. The slow funnel is the norm, not your problem.
— Add a return-path retarget (email, push, channel pin) so YOUR click is the last one before deposit, not a random brand search.
Reportedly the gap between a 7-day and 30-day window on crypto is 25%+ of conversions. Watch this.
