'One keyword per post' is leaving rankings on the table
Watched a writer agonize over hitting the exact-match phrase 6 times in a 1,000-word post. Meanwhile the page was missing every related entity Google expects for that topic. Ranked #14, stuck.
Fixed it by ignoring density and covering the topic instead:
— Pulled the recurring sub-questions from the SERP and answered each
— Added the named tools/people/terms the top pages all mention
— Stopped force-repeating the head term — once in H1, once early, done
Google ranks topical coverage, not the count of one phrase. Cover the thing, don't chant it.
