EPMV (earnings per thousand visitors — total session revenue, not per-pageview) captures money page RPM misses.
Same site, 28d, n=1 (illustrative):
— Page RPM $14.20
— Session pages/visit 1.6
— EPMV $22.70 ▮▮▮▮▮▮▮▮▮
— Implied uplift +60% vs single-page math
Page RPM rewards more pageviews. EPMV rewards more revenue per human. A site that drops 2 ad units but lifts pages/session 1.4 → 2.1 can grow EPMV while page RPM falls.
So what: optimize the visitor, not the pageview. ▲ EPMV is the only number that survives a layout change.
