Video pins won the views and lost the saves
A DIY-furniture creator went video-only after a flip clip hit 200k views. Months in, her saves were oddly low and her traffic hadn't grown.
Digging in, she found the pattern: video pins earned huge passive reach but people watched and scrolled — they rarely saved or clicked. Her static "before/after" pins had a third of the views but five times the saves and most of her outbound clicks.
She settled on a split: video as the top-of-funnel hook for cold reach, static pins as the workhorse for saves and traffic to her tutorials.
Takeaway: video buys you reach, static buys you saves and clicks — running only one starves the other half of your funnel.
