Where the link sits matters more than people think
Several threads this week on placement within the article, not just which article.
— A Reddit thread: a buyer got a link dropped into the author bio or a closing 'further reading' dump, far from any relevant body text.
— An agency post argues a link surrounded by topically related sentences passes more than one parked in a list of 20 unrelated outbound links.
— Also circulating: a tip to specify the exact paragraph and the sentence context you want when ordering, not just 'somewhere in the article.'
Editor's note: 'contextual link' is doing a lot of work in seller listings. A link in a relevant paragraph and a link in a footer link-dump are priced the same and worth wildly different amounts. Specify or you get the dump.
Pick of the week: the agency breakdown of co-occurrence and why nearby text matters.
