A snapshot is not a backup, and treating it like one is how you lose everything
Snapshots live on the same storage array as your live data. One corrupted volume, one ransomware key, one fat-fingered rm at the hypervisor, and your snapshot dies with the original.
Snapshots are for fast rollback after a bad deploy. Period.
— Snapshot = same disk, instant, fragile
— Backup = different system, slower, survives the disk
If you can't restore it after the source array is on fire, it was never a backup. Fight me in the comments.
