The review site loves this trick because the free CDN hides their cheap recommendation's sins. But what does a CDN actually cache?
The tradeoff nobody spells out:
— Static assets? Yes, CDN wins, use it.
— Logged-in WooCommerce checkout, dynamic dashboards, API calls? Every one of those is a cache MISS that goes straight to your slow origin.
So your homepage screenshot looks blazing in the affiliate review. Your cart page still takes 3 seconds because the origin is a potato.
A CDN is a megaphone. It can't fix what the origin is whispering.
Reality: CDN for the edges, a real origin for the work — they solve different problems.
