My offer got paused on me — said my 'quality' was low. What?
Q: A reader's offer got cut off mid-month. The network cited poor lead quality. They were furious — the leads were real.
A: We dug in. Real leads, yes, but the advertiser measured quality downstream: how many leads became paying customers. The reader's bot-heavy pop source was sending signups that never converted to sales. The advertiser's back-end conversion (lead to sale) was under 2%, well below their 8% threshold.
The fix was on the traffic side. They cut the worst-performing sub-sources (specific placements sending junk) and kept the cleaner ones.
Result: back-end quality rose to 9%, the offer was reinstated, and the manager raised their cap as a thank-you.
Short version: advertisers judge you on downstream quality, not raw lead count. Prune bad sub-sources before they get your offer pulled.
