Photoshop wasn't the bottleneck — speed was
A home-decor blogger spent 40 minutes per pin in Photoshop, perfecting shadows and kerning. Gorgeous pins, about 5 a week. Her account grew slowly.
A peer challenged her to switch to Canva templates: build five frames once, then swap photo and text in two minutes each. She hated giving up the control.
What happened wasn't that her pins got better — honestly they got slightly plainer. But output jumped from 5 to 30 pins a week. Pinterest rewards fresh volume, and her monthly impressions climbed from ~18k to ~75k over two months.
Takeaway: past a baseline of "clean and readable," Pinterest pays for cadence, not craft — pick the tool that lets you ship more, not the one that looks best in isolation.
