<b>Run a full disaster simulation once a year, lights out, no cheating</b>
Monthly restores test backups. A DR drill tests YOU under pressure. The exercise:
— Pick a day, declare prod "destroyed," do not touch it
— Rebuild on fresh infrastructure using ONLY backups and your runbook
— Restore DB, files, config, DNS, and certs from scratch
— Time the whole thing end to end, that's your true recovery window
— Compare it to what you promised clients, then close the gap
