Re-indexing trick cut snippet recovery from weeks to days
12:50 UTC — Heard from two operators who lost snippets to a bad edit and wanted them back fast. After reverting the answer paragraph, instead of waiting on natural crawl they submitted the URL for inspection and requested indexing immediately.
— Snippet returned in ~2-3 days vs the usual 9-14 day natural recovery
— Tested across 4 URLs, recovery consistently faster on the manually-submitted ones
— Recovered an estimated 4,000+ combined clicks weeks sooner
Why it matters: When you fix a snippet-losing mistake, reportedly the bottleneck is recrawl, not Google's decision. Force the recrawl and you collapse the recovery window. Unconfirmed it works at scale, but the small-batch results are consistent. Watching this.
